The Mary A. Tidlund Charitable Foundation has recently partnered with The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) in a micro finance program. The Foundation has donated $10,000 towards this program which will include 25 physically challenged persons or parents of disabled children for 12 months. They will be provided with business training, vocational training and loans as start up business capital to initiate small scale business within Mombasa, Kenya. Most clients will operate tailoring businesses, carpentry, retail kiosks, water tap businesses, charcoal, vegetable groceries, and second hand shops among others.
